A hug is a handshake,
Or that's what it's become...
A  formality of friendship,
For those old and Young.

A hug is a hello,
An "I'm good, how are you?"
A greeting of neighbors,
We use it, too.

A kiss as a handshake?
A Hello-Good bye?
Not a promise of lovers,
Just used on they fly?

A kiss as a handshake,
Used loose without meaning,
Has lost all its purpose,
Its divine station leaving.

A kiss as a hug.
Held loose in one hand.
Tossed to a stranger,
In a far away land.

A hug is a handshake,
When we use it with few.
A kiss, it is special,
Saved only for you.
